We have a delivery of Yanmar C50R-5 tracked carriers due into us early October. This 6 tonne dumper is a very compact carrier for its class. It has a total width of 2.2 meters allowing this machine to transport 3800 kg of load capacity even on very small jobsites. A total length of 4.54 meters makes it easy to turn in every condition, especially considering that this machine can spin-turn 360°.
You may remember that the C50's underwent a series of upgrades at the end of 2015, which vastly improved the machine, as mirrored by an upturn in interest and sales throughout 2016 and now 2017.
Some of the popular features are outlined below:
Very Low Ground Pressure
Being equipped with one of the largest track gauges on the market gives these dumpers a large ground surface. 32 rollers on the ground evenly distribute the weight and fully loaded the machines ground pressure is as low as 32.4 kPA. This improves the all terrain capabilities and means the C50R-5 can work in the worst ground conditions. So much so Yanmar have dubbed this machine as 'light-foot'.
The visibility on the new models has been improved through; wider windows, a re-designed right corner of the machine and 3 rear view mirrors. Hence making the surrounding work areas more visible and safer.
Reversible Travel Levers and Seat
Both the drivers seat and the travel levers are mounted on a 180° turning pivot, meaning the operator is always facing the direction of travel. Apart from the obvious safety benefits this gives it also saves time due to less maneuvering required, which in turn means less impact on the ground as constant turns of the machine aren't required.
New Cab Design
Now with a large ROPS, FOPS & TOPS standard cab that has improved steps and rails for easier entry and exit. Inside the cab the seat has be changed to a more comfortable model, as well as all the instruments being positioned on the far side of the cabin. This is so all the switches and the LCD screen are together improving the visibility and ease for the operator.
The latest Yanmar common rail engine equipped with a particle filter is found in these machines. It gives a high engine output whilst still falling in line with the latest engine regulations.
The engine also comes with anti-stall technology, which controls the primary side pilot pressure when travelling up banks and in second speed so stalls can be prevented.
