The dangers of Hand Arm Vibration (HAV) and the issues that over exposure to this can cause, are well documented. Many construction journals tell of court cases where employers are being fined thousands of pounds for not doing enough to protect against HAV, a breach of the Health & Safety at Work ACT 1974.
Firms, such as councils are having to make changes in order to protect their workforce from the dangers of vibrations. This is where Ammann's new range of APF vibratory compaction plates comes into their own.
They have incredibly low HAV levels, below 2.5 m/sec2, therefore giving the operator further protection from unwanted vibration. This reduction comes as a result of the Z-buffer in the handle bar. This patented system enables precise machine control while protecting the operator from vibration. The low HAV levels allow long work shifts without health risk to the operator or a need for documentation.
Importantly this doesn't impact performance levels, with the Ammann APF range still offering industry leading compaction quality.
