The ARW65, Ammann's walk behind roller, combines two application within one machine.
The operator can choose between a high amplitude setting for working on gravel and soil based surfaces, or a low amplitude setting for usage on asphalt and bituminous material.
The ARW 65 features scrapers on both drums and a 60-litre water tank with sprinkler system to ensure the machine is ready to handle bituminous surfaces when called upon.
Edge work - The ARW65 offers clearance on both sides of the drum, allowing compaction work up to curbstones, walls and other obstacles. Therefore no extra work on edges is required, saving precious time.
Smooth operation - Each machine is fitted with a hydraulic drive, ensuring variable speed adjustment and smooth starting/braking actions.
Minimal maintenance - The walk behind rollers are built without mechanical fast-wearing parts such as V belts and a clutch, helping reduce maintenance time.
Safety - The guide handle includes the 'dead mans handle' which immediately shuts off the machine if the operator releases their grip. When in reverse mode the roller's speed limit is set to 2.5km/h as a safety regulation to protect workers.

The Ammann ARX20 roller is a light, articulated machine, with a 1 metre wide drum, that delivers optimal compaction results through its double drive and double vibration systems.
A big plus for asphalt and groundworkers using this roller is that it works flush up against curbs and other obstructions. The operator also has excellent visibility from the work station, not only to the drums but also all around the machine.
The electric drive-lever makes for smooth starting and stopping and is another the reasons the roller is popular. Other operator benefits include a rubber-mounted platform that limits vibration, a reliable Yanmar engine and large water tank capacities.
Like all of our Ammann ARX tandem rollers, the ARX 20 is built with high quality, long-lasting components that reduce the cost of ownership over the lifetime of the machine. It is reliable, economical, safe and fuel efficient.

Ammann Group have announced the release of the ARX 90 and ARX 110 Articulated Heavy Tandem Rollers, now featuring Oscillation.
Typically these rollers are found on medium to large jobsites, such as; transport and building construction.
Essentially oscillation is a technology that helps rollers achieve compaction with less vibration.
Oscillation eliminates about 90 per cent of the stress on materials when compared with a traditional circular vibratory system. This is important when compacting on bridges, over sewers, utility lines and near buildings where a traditional vibratory approach can cause damage.
Oscillation uses less force but delivers both vertical and horizontal energy, effectively manipulating the aggregates into place. The drums maintain constant contact with the ground and deliver both static and dynamic forces.
In asphalt applications, the ARX 90 and ARX 110 able to work on hot mats sooner than traditional rollers, and they are able to stay on cold mats longer, too. This greatly expands the compaction window, essential for time-pressed crews.
The rollers also are great fits for sealing asphalt joints. The manipulating (kneading) motion of oscillation provides enough energy to break down the hot asphalt – yet does not damage the adjacent cold mat. Oscillation also eliminates vibration marks.
For those occasions when oscillation is not required, the ARX 90 and ARX 110 with oscillation feature heavy-duty, two-stage vibrator. Each drum has an independent vibratory pump. Amplitude and frequency are easily adjusted from inside the cab. The non-split drums offset up to 17 cm on both sides.
Weighing in at 1475 kg, with a drum width of 820 mm and packing a punch of 23kN of compaction capability, the Ammann ARX 12 is ideally suited to working in close-proximity environments.
One of the key selling features of the Ammann ARX12 tandem roller is it's ability to work flush up against a vertical surface, such as a kerb or wall. Thus eliminating the hassle of having to finish the job off with a hand operated compactor such as a vibratory plate. Not only saving time but money as well, it may mean the ARX12 can complete the job without the need for any additional machinery.
The ARX 12 is fitted with a pressurised water sprinkling system featuring an interval timer and a three-stage filtration system, supplied from a large-capacity 110-litre water tank, providing enough water for at least one day's work.
Power is supplied to the ARX 12 by a three-cylinder Yanmar 3TNV76 diesel engine producing 15.0kW (20.4hp) and has a maximum road speed of 8kph.
The machine is packed with features that not only make it a easy to handle but make it safe to operate as well.
We received the following feedback from a customer who purchased an ARX12 from us last year, it's always good to hear when end users are so happy with our machines.
"Upon selecting one of two engine-speed settings on a lever situated on the right-hand side of the steering column, travelling in a forward or reverse direction is performed by moving the electric-drive lever in the direction you want to travel.
The lever is situated to the right of the operator and also houses the drum vibration controls, which are operated by a blue and a red button on the side of the lever.
A clever bit of mechanical engineering automatically ceases the vibrating function momentarily before the machine responds to the command to change direction (forward-reverse or vice-versa) eliminating those annoying 'scallops' that customarily get left in the work surface when traditional vibrating rollers change direction.
At the risk of sounding clichéd, we found the Ammann ARX 12 to be packed with features too numerous to mention."

Have a great New Year and see you in 2018!
Despite being one of our most popular models, the Yanmar SV26 went through some improvements.
The main change is seen in the tracks. As well as having a new design and more grip, they have increased in width from 250mm to 300mm. As well as improving manoeuvrability, these new tracks will also last longer. With 15% less ground pressure, wear will reduce as well as the potential for damages to the ground. The blade has also been widened to accommodate the wider tracks, as well as full ram guard protection on the bucket, dipper and arm cylinders.
Ammann released a new line of technologically advanced APF, forward travel plate compactors. These plates provide industry leading compaction output, manoeuvrability, travel speed and climbing ability. They have also had much work done to reduce unwanted vibration to operators.
These plates fit a broad range of applications, such as gardening, landscaping and road works.
We sold the first of our Pegasus roto telehandlers in September. This model the 40.25 went straight to a home building site complete with a winch and is fully remote controlled. This machine also features a powerful FPT 141 hp Turbocharged Diesel engine. Its 2-speed hydrostatic, 25 mph road speed gets it around to various locations quickly. The ATP (Anti Tipping Protection) safety feature along with stabilisers all around ensures both operator comfort and safety. The Pegasus 40.25 features a lifting capacity of 4000 kg with a 20.5 metre horizontal reach, making it ideal for most construction and building applications.
We supplied FM Conway another batch of Yanmar excavators throughout October. This most recent deal was made up of 6 tonne ViO57’s, 5 tonne ViO50’s, 2.5 tonne SV26’s and 1.5 tonne SV16’s. This is in addition to a similar set of machinery supplied in late 2016, on that occasion 8 tonne ViO80’s were also included.
A&Y’s Area Sales Manager, Peter Ayres said “it’s fantastic to be associated with innovative and ever growing companies like FM Conway. This latest order shows their loyalty to both the Yanmar and A&Y brands.”
The ARX26, which has an operating weight of 2.5 tonne, a drum width of 1200 mm and offers a centrifugal compaction force of 47KN had a successful year with many units being sold. In November more of these rollers left us to both end users and dealers. Users have commented on the great drum visibility as well as the electric drive lever ideal for work on asphalt jobs.
We now have stock of the upgraded Yanmar ViO33 and ViO38. These models are now -6 and join other models in being improved. These changes not only increase performance and productivity but also make the operating experience a much more comfortable one. Just a few of these improvements include: Higher lifting capacities, more stable undercarriage, new engine ECU, improved powerline, air suspension seat, more leg room, re-designed one piece door and much better maintenance access.
The past weeks has seen more Ammann ARX26 tandem rollers being PDI'd and going out to customers.
The ARX26, which has an operating weight of 2.5 tonne, a drum width of 1200 mm and offers a centrifugal compaction force of 47KN, was part of the large Ammann roller deal to Ardent Hire at the start of the year. This particular model has continued to be a popular choice consistently throughout 2017 and today we pick out just a few of the reasons why.
The machine is designed to provide the operator with exceptional drum views, making the work close to obstacles and obstructions far easier.
When operating on soil but particularly asphalt then a smooth stop and start is essential, in order to not leave marks on the surface. The ARX 26 comes with an electric drive lever as standard allowing for smooth operation and full control of the machines speed. This lever is found on all tandem rollers across the ARX range and is widely regarded as the best drive lever on the market.
You will find on the lever the control for the vibration and sprinkler system, allowing the user full control from these functions from one lever. It is an option to add a 2nd travel lever on the left hand side of the operating platform as well as the right.
The operators platform, including the seat, steering column, travel lever and floor are isolated from vibration. Being situated on a specific vibration reducing mounts has led the ARX 26 to having the lowest hand arm vibration levels for rollers this size. Making longer work shifts more comfortable which should in turn increase overall productivity.
Also situated on the operators platform is the throttle, with it's three positions, Low Idle (900 rpm), Work (2100 rpm) and High Power (2400 rpm). This allows the rollers to vibrate at different frequencies, creating different centrifugal forces, depending on the material being compacted.
You will find these rollers in a number of hire fleets across the country and one piece of feedback we often receive is how the latest models larger water tank has aided users. This allows longer work periods before having to re fill the tank. A clear gauge shows the current water levels and a large opening aids fast drainage.
Each drum on the ARX26 comes with an easily adjustable scraper bar as well as jets for the sprinkler system. Scrapers not only keep the drum clean of material build up, they also hold the water in between the scraper and the drum to keep it lubricated, essential when working with asphalt.
This model of roller, like all the other tandem ARX have many more benefits. To find out more information please Contact Us
