Last year Ammann released the ART 35 T4i, a light, pivot-steered pneumatic tyred roller.
With an operating weight of 3200 kg, the ART 35 T4i is the lightest pneumatic roller in the Ammann lineup. The machine design is compact, with a length of 3260 mm and a width of 1540 mm. The design provides stability, manoeuvrability and ground access to service points.
The pneumatic tyres make it productive on diverse materials, particularly those that require a “kneading” effect to aid compaction and the sealing of asphalt surfaces. The roller utilises two axles, each with four tyres, and a wide steering angle for the ultimate in manoeuvrability, even in tight spaces. The machine utilises synchronized steering of the front and rear axle for easy operation and precise surface coverage
An oil-cooled Deutz engine meets interim emissions standards while providing the necessary power. The engine is efficient and quiet.
The ART 35 T4i features intuitive control and handling, helping even unskilled operators be productive. Control switches are installed on the dashboard in front of the operator, making them easy to see and reach. A sliding operator seat boosts comfort and visibility.
A three-stage filtration system with a large water tank extends intervals between fillings, helping the roller keep pace on asphalt paving jobs. A double-drive lever provides smooth starts and stops – also essential when working on asphalt.
All service points are easy to access. A reduction in service points adds even more time-saving convenience.
Applications include small- and medium-sized compaction jobsites, road construction projects and industrial sites.

A year ago Ammann released a new line of technologically advanced APF, forward travel plate compactors.
These plates provide industry leading compaction output, manoeuvrability, travel speed and climbing ability. They have also had much work done to reduce unwanted vibration to operators.
These latest models are the Ammann APF 12/33, APF 15/40, APF 15/50, and APF 20/50. The product line is the lightest of all the Ammann plate compactors, with weights ranging from 69kg to 107 kg and widths from 330 mm to 500 mm. The current APF1033, which weighs 54kg and is a consistent best remained in the APF range.
These plates fit a broad range of applications, such as gardening, landscaping and road works. With an optional water sprinkler, vulkollan mat and transport wheel kit, the machine are also suitable for asphalt applications and the laying of paving stones.
The APF line is powered by reliable and efficient Honda petrol engines. The largest 20/50 is available with a Honda petrol or Hatz diesel engine.
On top of the additional features, each plate boasts; a frame protecting all of the crucial components, a wear plate designed to last and a maintenance free exciter system. A main feature is the new Z-buffer inserted into the handles. This patented system enables precise machine control whilst protecting the operator from vibration, levels are now below 2.5 m/sec2. These low HAV levels allow for longer work shifts without a health risk or the need for documentation.

Despite having a payload of 10 t and weighing nearly 15 t these tracked dumpers have a very low ground pressure. Again a rotating seat option and cameras gives optimal visibility and safety.
Compaction is essential on any worksite in the construction sector. There are numerous reasons we compact, including; to increase the load bearing capacity, make the surface more resistant to damages and to ultimately make the surface stable.
Compaction quality as well as output is high on our ASC rollers.
Two different vibration frequencies and amplitudes are achievable from these rollers. A simple system for adjusting amplitude/frequency by selecting the vibratory shaft movement is situated on the dashboard control panel. Thus giving greater control and quality of compaction.
These rollers are powered by reliable Cummins engines, fitted with auto idle to help reduce emissions. The engines give a strong power output, allowing the machines to climb a grade of 45% as well as keeping compaction forces as high as they are, 15% higher than the nearest competing roller. This is thanks to the tried and tested Ammann Vibratory system offering industry leading outputs. Even the frame and drum are optimally balanced to ensure compaction is even and deeper.
3 further key benefits we have identified are as follows:
We will have an ASC model on show at Hillhead 2018, in the meantime, for further information, including pricing and availability please contact our offices on:

Our largest Ammann compaction plates, the APH 5030, 6530 & 100-20 are all fitted with the unique Triple-Shaft Exciter system. Which has been designed to improve the maneuverability and climbing ability of these plates in a revolutionary way.
Effectively the triple shaft system allows the plates to be flexible and can be used in higher clay and cohesive soils, even with lots of moisture.
When working in cohesive material the unfavorable tilting action of plates, fitted with conventional double shaft exciter systems, and the lack of powerful climbing ability provided poor compaction results.
This is done without the usual suction effect, which can leave plates at a standstill.
The ease in handling and maneuvering of the plate is particularly helpful when the use of low frequency/high amplitude is required.
