Simply put compaction technology can have a significant impact on your bottom line. Utilising technology can help operators reduce passes and deliver substantial savings in labour, fuel and machine wear. The technology also can ensure compaction goals have been achieved, eliminating the need for costly re-work at the jobsite. Three ways in which cutting edge Ammann technology can help you are outlined below. Please Contact Us for further information on anything from our Ammann Compaction range. ![]() Triple Shaft Exciter System on Plate Compactors The patented Ammann triple-shaft exciter system provides industry-leading climbing ability and compaction output, ultimately delivering outstanding results, even on cohesive soils. The triple-shaft exciter system eliminates erratic movements, allowing smooth travel even through heavy and cohesive soil. This unique system’s consistent movement enables effortless climbing over obstacles or while compacting backfill materials with high moisture content. This is done without the usual suction effect, which can leave plates at a standstill. The ease in handling and maneuvering of the plate is particularly helpful when the use of low frequency/high amplitude is required. ![]() GPS Based Compaction ACEplus combines the ACE (Ammann Compaction Expert) measurement and control system with a navigation system. It provides an efficient analysis and documentation system for continuous compaction control. The satellite navigation system accurately assigns the measured compaction values to the position coordinates and the time. The graphic display of measurement data relays the on-site compaction work and enables a fast and reliable performance analysis. ACEplus therefore increases reliability and integrates quality control measures in the work process. ![]() Intelligent Ground Compaction Precise, transparent and verifiable compaction processes increasingly are required on construction sites. Ammann took the first steps toward providing these processes in 1998 with the creation of Ammann Compaction Expert (ACE), an automated compaction measurement and control system. ACE has been continually improved since its introduction and remains the industry leader. It is the only system that automatically adjusts amplitude and frequency based on ground characteristics. The benefits of ACE technology are significant. Among them:
ACE technology is available for both soil and asphalt applications. There are three ACE options available; ACE Pro, ACE Force and ACE econ.

![]() Four models in our range of Yanmar excavators come with extendable undercarriage as standard. The machines with this feature are the semi zero tail swing SV08 and SV18 as well as the zero tail swing ViO10 and ViO17. The operator can switch from the open frame configuration for increased stability, down to the closed frame to work in tight spots or reduced lanes. In the case of the SV08 this can be to travel through a standard doorway. The beauty of this feature is not just the added versatility it gives but the ease in which the adjustments can be made. An accessible lever controls the enlargement of the chassis with the blade extension being operated by folding the additional length out from the blade and pinning it in position. This function requires no tools and means that the parts stay attached to the machine at all times, reducing the likelihood of lost parts. You can watch a video of this very operation taking place on a ViO17 by clicking the below link: www.facebook.com/aandygroup/videos/985580044824356/ Yanmar have also reduced the clearance between the sliding undercarriage parts, thus meaning no build up of soil or mud during the extension and retraction. The changes in machine widths of the excavators are as follows: SV08 = 680mm - 840mm
ViO10 = 830mm - 1000mm ViO17 = 950mm - 1280mm SV18 = 980 - 1320mm Yesterday (Thursday 17th March) you may have seen the below pictures appearing on our social media feeds. It shows a collection of rollers heading out. This order was made up of a combination of ARX12, 26 and 36 tandem rollers, you can see more details on all the small tandem rollers HERE The ARX 26 covers some ground with its 1200 mm drum width. The machine is designed to provide the operator with exceptional drum views, one factor in helping the machine work close to potential obstructions. An electric drive-lever makes for smooth starting and stopping and is among the reasons these rollers are popular with operators. Other operator benefits include a rubber-mounted platform that limits vibration and an intuitive instrument panel. The ARX 26 also includes high quality, long-lasting components that reduce the cost of ownership over the lifetime of the machine. It is commonly regarded as a; reliable, economical, safe and fuel efficient roller. Ammann themselves identify the following as highlights of the ARX 26
![]() Last week A&Y's headquarters became the home of Yanmar product training for 3 days. During that time we had over 40 dealers and sales agents attending the course, run by Bart Verstraete, Yanmar's area sales manager for European regions including the UK and Ireland. Each day covered a number of important features that make Yanmar machines stand out from competitors and also included information on the Yanmar products coming to market, such as the Wheel Loaders and the C50R-5. Visitors started the day with background into the Yanmar company as a whole before moving onto an excavator product overview. During this section the following aspects were discussed:
This was followed by a walk around the impressive lineup of excavators before the new products were introduced and demonstrated. The attendees have commented on how useful the day was and the quality of the new products. Sam Sanderson of Mawsley Machinery said afterwards that "we all found it very informative and helpful" whilst Chris Knight from Chris Knight Plant Sales was very impressed with the SV100-2 Piece Boom, especially the operating smoothness of the machine and the many working possibilities the boom allows for. For further details on any Yanmar product then please Contact Us on : 01789 414525 - sales@aandygroup.com We are pleased to be able to bring you news of two new products to our Yanmar Construction range. Now complimenting the popular SV and ViO excavators, alongside the tracked carriers are two Wheel loaders, the V7 and V8. These two models, complete with Hydraulic quick coupler and Z bar linkage fit a variety of attachments and are seen as being very versatile. The Z bar concept not only allows for safer use of the loader due to an increase in visibility but also gives excellent breakout and high lifting forces, making these loaders work in many fields of application. You can view the specific Yanmar Wheel Loader page HERE, where you will find dimensions and specifications as well as the product brochure. ![]() Compact and Powerful - Both models are powered by Yanmar engines increasing reliability and decreasing fuel consumption - The V7 (0.7 cubic metres) and V8 (0.8 cubic metres) have high bucket capacities - A very powerful hydrostatic transmission ensures excellent traction and loading forces (2300 kg and 3000 kg respectively). Additionally, Yanmar offers an Inch-Break-Pedal in order to adjust permanently the performance between the transmission and working hydraulics. ![]() High Functionality - Ease of service and maintenance. The special structure of the rear frame and the engine mounted in line, guarantee the best access to all service- and maintenance points. - Increase in productivity. Standard hydraulic quick coupler in combination with third section (auxiliary hydraulic circuit) allow to change and operate different kinds of attachments. For example the driver can easily change between standard bucket and pallet forks without leaving the cabin. - Yanmar has decided to use a concept with straight articulation joint with an oscillating rear axle which offers a very good stability while driving in uneven grounds. ![]() Operator Comfort - The multifunction joystick contributes to the ease of operation. It integrates forward-reverse switch, travel speed selector, differential lock 100% on demand (only on V8) and hydraulic quick coupler. - Comfortable adjustable armrests and seat combined with large windows offering 360 ° contribute toward increasing safety on the jobsite. We currently have a V8 here at A&Y, please contact us if you'd like to take a closer look Ammann Vibratory Plate Compactors are made for a variety of compaction jobs. The product line ranges from a light 54 kg to a much heavier 825 kg – with many models in between. When it comes to production, some of these machines move as quickly as soil compactors. They are high-climbers, too, with various models performing on grades as steep as 30 per cent. They also are versatile, with an ability to easily adjust to varied applications, many being available with diesel or petrol engines. Ammann Vibratory Plate Compactors are broken into three categories:
Versatility for the Rental Market Ammann Vibratory Plates provide a great range of weights and varied vibratory features to match many applications. The compact machine dimensions and easy upkeep make it ideal for rental companies as well as contractors and landscapers. Control The vibratory plates have different exciter systems but a common thread runs through all: easy operator control. That includes when changing directions or working on steep gradiants. The Handle The standard guide handle is vibration isolated to reduce stress on the operator. It also is foldable and removable, a crucial feature when working in confined areas or during transport. A patented low-vibration guide handle that reduces vibration even further is optional on some machines. Applications
Recently our innovative SV100-2 piece boom excavator has gained a lot of attention, from both visitors and on social media. Just like the standard SV100-2, it has been designed from the ground up as a dedicated 10 tonne class machine - not just an 8 tonner on steroids! ![]() High Performance The machine itself weighs just over 10 tonnes and is Yanmar's first model with an articulated boom. The boom configuration originates from heavy wheeled excavators and drastically improves the performance of the machine, particularly in lifting, moving and placing loads it tight areas. As well as these increases the SV100-2PB gives operators greater dig depths and dig reaches all the while keeping the machine stable and moving smoothly. This is greatly helped by being fitted with asymmetric crawlers which enlarges the track gauge of the machine and its lateral stability. These exclusive VICTAS ® crawlers with a width of 485 mm and a length of 2,370 mm on the ground (the longest in this category) also ensures limited ground pressure. Unique Design Yanmar Product Development has focused on a unique solution: the SV100 2-piece boom is fitted with a single top mounted boom articulation cylinder. This configuration offers a total protection of the cylinder rod which reduces the risks of damages. Daily maintenance is also simplified with a reduction of the number of greasing points by 50 %. This all results in a reduction of the Total Cost of Ownership of about 50%. Furthermore, the use of a single top mounted articulation cylinder enables to divide the dead weight by 50%, which improves the stability of the SV100 2PB. The very sleek structure of the boom also results in the best visibility available on the market. Quotes "Huge potential here not currently offered by any other manufacturer" "Ready to carve it's own niche into the market place" "Being stage 5 ready and having auto idle and eco-mode as standard I cant wait to see fuel consumption fall" "Powerful with more much potential for productivity" "Plenty of room in the cab, air seat and switches aren't from a bargain bin. Thumbs up!" "An impressive looking machine that gets more impressive the more you read about it" "3 year warranty is the cherry on the cake!"
