As the UK & Ireland distributor of Ammann's compaction machinery we sell a wide variety of compaction plates, forward moving, reversible and hydrostatic.
The reversible range of Ammann plate compactors are know as APR. All of these plates have a modern design, with a sturdy protection frame, integrated central lifting point and a choice of powerful petrol or diesel engines making this series of vibration plate very popular.
The APR 2220 plate represents the lightest unit in the reversible plate series, with an operating width of 40 cm and a forward speed of 25 meter/min.
This plate is particularly suitable for compaction work in narrow trenches and in confined areas. It's an extremely compact and handy unit with an operating weight of just below 100 kg (Honda petrol engine, 121kg Hatz engine.)
Both versions reach a high maximum vibration frequency of 98 Hz and maximum centrifugal force of 22 kN. The light weight and narrow working widths make the machines perform well on confined jobsites
This machine, like the larger APR 2620 and 3020 can have optional transport wheels attached. As well as wheels there is also the option of rubber mats, to avoid damage to paving stones.

We will also have a model on show at next weeks Executive Hire Show if you are visiting, Stand B45.
In Part 2 of our Executive Hire Show preview we will be looking at the Ammann compaction equipment as well as Cormidi tracked carriers that will be found on our stand.
The show is on Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th February at Coventry's Ricoh Arena. Once again A&Y will be exhibiting on stand B45, showing a range of equipment suited to the Hire industry.
The Ammann ARX 12 Tandem Roller is a light, articulated ride-on roller that works flush against curbs and other obstructions and eliminates the need for special edge compaction efforts. Double-drive and double-vibration are standard and help deliver optimum compaction results.
An electric drive-lever makes for smooth starting and stopping and is among the reasons the roller is popular with operators. Other operator benefits include a rubber-mounted platform that limits vibration and an intuitive instrument panel to help make even an inexperienced operator successful.
The ARX 12 is built with high quality, long-lasting components that reduce the cost of ownership over the lifetime of the machine. It is reliable, economical, safe and fuel efficient.
The 1575 features an articulation joint with oscillation, providing perfect ground contact and optimal compaction results. The oscillation feature also reduces the chances of tipping.
The Trench roller and its padfoot drum provide results, even where other compactors have failed. Its ability to work in cohesive soils can prevent the need for soil removal and replacement, providing a significant financial impact.
Two steering cylinders help make the 1575 responsive and precise. The remote controlled operation relies on line of sight and improves on site safety.
Compaction Plates & Rammers
We will have a selection of compaction plates and two rammers situated on our stand. The plates will be from our forward moving and reversible ranges, both of which prove very popular to hire companies throughout the UK and Ireland.
Our smallest forward travel APF 1033 plate will be accompanied by models from the brand new APF line. These new models have drastically reduced hand arm vibration levels, as well as giving key elements better protection and a maintenance free exciter system.
The ATR30, a 29 kg lightweight rammer will also be found in this section of our stand. This model has found a real niche working on fibre optic cabling jobs.
Cormidi Tracked Dumper
We will have a verastile, Cormidi tracked carrier making up our stand.
These models come with the Hi-tip feature, perfect for dumping over the side of skips or walls, and have articulating 'rocking rollers', meaning constant ground contact.
Other features include:
Once again this year we will be bringing a number of key machines suited to the hire industry to the Executive Hire Show.
With just over two weeks until the doors to the show open (7th & 8th of Feb) all plans are finalised and we are excited to bring you a mix of popular current machines and some brand new models, never seen before in the UK.
In Part 1 of our show preview we will highlight some advantages of the Yanmar excavators and Dieci telehandler we will be showing. These will be completed with attachments that again are commonly found on hire machines to make them more versatile.
We look forward to seeing you there on Stand B45
Dieci Apollo 25.6R
Apollo 25.6R is the fixed boom telehandler for industry and construction, with excellent features, high versatility and best handling: it is designed to meet the needs of small works in fact it perfectly fits in tight and difficult spaces. This particular model has the main selling points that its less than 2 metres wide and in cab height. This makes it very mobile and perfectly suited to work on job sites where space is of a premium.
Despite the dimensions of the machine the cab remains spacious, in fact the most roomy cab of any telehandler in this category.
The Yanmar SV08 is a powerful micro excavator, weighing just over 1 tonne, that is ideal for use in landscaping, indoor renovation, housing foundations and pipe laying.
A key factor that makes this machine so well suited to these fields is mobility; expandable track width (680mm - 840 mm) allows the SV08 to travel through tight spaces, such as doors but also aid stability when digging. It's ultra small rear turning radius (just 305mm overhang) provides higher efficiency in narrow passages and spots.
Performance of this excavator isn't lessened due to size. The powerful, 10.2 hp, interim Tier 4 engine is environmentally friendly with clean exhaust and very low noise. As well as this the boom is fitted with a dual action auxiliary circuit (PTO), enabling users to add various accessories. All of which is protected by strong external covers and shields, in fact the flexible hoses have been carefully centrally routed to eliminate twisting problems.
A zero tail swing excavator with an extendable undercarriage (950 mm - 1280 mm.) This 1.7 tonne, canopy machine is popular in both urban and country environments.
Yanmar's progressive 3 pump VIPPs hydraulic circuit allows for increased working speed as well as smoother operation.
Yanmar's reliability is found in this machine through the clean and quiet TNV engine, well routed central hoses, ROPS frame, large rear bonnet and well protected cylinders.
The operator is conformable in a spacious work area, with a second speed pedal making combination usage easier.
In Part 2 on Friday we will concentrate on the Ammann Compaction products and Cormidi tracked dumpers that will complete our stand.
The SV18, our 2 tonne, cabbed, Yanmar mini excavator has had a change of look to make it more modern.
A re-design of the rear and boom plus change of decals has brought the SV18 in line with the recent changes to some of the larger excavators, such as the ViO50-6.
This model, part of the semi zero tail swing or SV range is a machine with expandable tracks from 980 mm to 1320 mm, making it more stable and versatile than most machines in this weight class. Easily transportable on a trailer or a utility vehicle thank to its reduced dimensions, with excellent traction forces for an excavator of this weight class, the SV18 is a highly efficient machine.
Also equipped with hydraulic Load-Sensing flow sharing, variable flow piston pump, with a dual or single-action auxiliary circuit fitted to arm end, the SV18 is a versatile mini-excavator able to support many tasks in very different places from very narrow areas to big sized work sites.
The SV18 furthermore results from a successful combination of the engine and the hydraulic system which enables to reduce fuel consumption, increase productivity and reduce exhaust fumes.
A very popular machine, particularly north of the border in Scotland we have them in stock now with options for finance readily available.

Ammann Group have announced the release of the ARX 90 and ARX 110 Articulated Heavy Tandem Rollers, now featuring Oscillation.
Typically these rollers are found on medium to large jobsites, such as; transport and building construction.
Essentially oscillation is a technology that helps rollers achieve compaction with less vibration.
Oscillation eliminates about 90 per cent of the stress on materials when compared with a traditional circular vibratory system. This is important when compacting on bridges, over sewers, utility lines and near buildings where a traditional vibratory approach can cause damage.
Oscillation uses less force but delivers both vertical and horizontal energy, effectively manipulating the aggregates into place. The drums maintain constant contact with the ground and deliver both static and dynamic forces.
In asphalt applications, the ARX 90 and ARX 110 able to work on hot mats sooner than traditional rollers, and they are able to stay on cold mats longer, too. This greatly expands the compaction window, essential for time-pressed crews.
The rollers also are great fits for sealing asphalt joints. The manipulating (kneading) motion of oscillation provides enough energy to break down the hot asphalt – yet does not damage the adjacent cold mat. Oscillation also eliminates vibration marks.
For those occasions when oscillation is not required, the ARX 90 and ARX 110 with oscillation feature heavy-duty, two-stage vibrator. Each drum has an independent vibratory pump. Amplitude and frequency are easily adjusted from inside the cab. The non-split drums offset up to 17 cm on both sides.
In Greek mythology, Hercules was famed for his strength. Just like the Dieci Hercules telehandlers are famed for their strength.
The Hercules range consists of four powerful telehandler models, which are positioned in the "giants” market. For example the 210.10 can lift a massive 21 tonnes!
They include all the positives relating to safety, handling and comfort, in addition to highly advanced hydraulic solutions, able to use all of their strength in large construction sites, in mining sites and quarries, in harbors and shipbuilding yards, and heavy work in general. In fact Williams Martini F1 team transport a Dieci Hercules 190.10 around the world with them. It's put to use setting up the impressive hospitality units used during Formula 1 race weekends.
The Hercules are fitted with the same new style cab as the Pegasus complete with anti-tipping as well. Loading and positioning is safe as the ATP anti tipping protection protects the machine from over-loading.
The basic specs of the 4 Hercules models we offer are below. For more information please Contact Us
Weighing in at 1475 kg, with a drum width of 820 mm and packing a punch of 23kN of compaction capability, the Ammann ARX 12 is ideally suited to working in close-proximity environments.
One of the key selling features of the Ammann ARX12 tandem roller is it's ability to work flush up against a vertical surface, such as a kerb or wall. Thus eliminating the hassle of having to finish the job off with a hand operated compactor such as a vibratory plate. Not only saving time but money as well, it may mean the ARX12 can complete the job without the need for any additional machinery.
The ARX 12 is fitted with a pressurised water sprinkling system featuring an interval timer and a three-stage filtration system, supplied from a large-capacity 110-litre water tank, providing enough water for at least one day's work.
Power is supplied to the ARX 12 by a three-cylinder Yanmar 3TNV76 diesel engine producing 15.0kW (20.4hp) and has a maximum road speed of 8kph.
The machine is packed with features that not only make it a easy to handle but make it safe to operate as well.
We received the following feedback from a customer who purchased an ARX12 from us last year, it's always good to hear when end users are so happy with our machines.
"Upon selecting one of two engine-speed settings on a lever situated on the right-hand side of the steering column, travelling in a forward or reverse direction is performed by moving the electric-drive lever in the direction you want to travel.
The lever is situated to the right of the operator and also houses the drum vibration controls, which are operated by a blue and a red button on the side of the lever.
A clever bit of mechanical engineering automatically ceases the vibrating function momentarily before the machine responds to the command to change direction (forward-reverse or vice-versa) eliminating those annoying 'scallops' that customarily get left in the work surface when traditional vibrating rollers change direction.
At the risk of sounding clichéd, we found the Ammann ARX 12 to be packed with features too numerous to mention."
