As the year draws to it's end, we take the opportunity to look back over what has been a busy 12 Months for A&Y Equipment.
With much more exciting news coming in 2017 take sure you are following us on Twitter and Facebook to keep up to date with all the news, as well of course the website that is constantly evolving.
We wish you a very merry Christmas and Happy New Year. See you in 2017!
We started the year by releasing a range of A&Y oils and lubricants. They are of a very high quality and come in sizes of 5l, 25l, 205l. We have oils suited to the latest release of engine, providing improved ageing resistance, corrosion protection and wear protection.

The latest edition of Ammann ASC single drum, soil compactors arrived with us. These rollers combine the highest efficiency together with environmentally friendly operation, due to the latest generation of Cummins engine. Further improvements in the cab give the operator higher comfort as well as easier to use controls.
We had delivery of the largest of our Cormidi tracked dumpers, the C85 in March. These dumpers are available in both petrol and diesel models and both types were sold during this month.
The dumpers had the Hi tip function, ideal for tipping over the edges of skips for example. They also are well suited to all terrains due to low ground pressure and the articulated rocking rollers give constant ground contact, even when tracking over uneven surfaces.
This month A&Y dealers Mawsley Machinery sold an ASC30, a 1200mm single drum soil compactor from Ammann.
The ASC30 squeezes into tight jobsites and provides high productivity in confined work spaces, performing on multiple soil types and in difficult underfoot conditions.
Yet despite it's smaller size it still features a hydrostatic drive system and the high compaction (85kN of centrifugal force) associated with Ammann rollers.
Ace Machinery Ltd, sold the first of the new C50R-5TV tracked carriers with turning skip. This compact 6 tonne carrier, with a payload of 3.5 tonne and Yanmar’s new EU Stage 5 ready engine, has been purchased by Longford Hire Centre.
As a comprehensive provider of plant and equipment to the construction sector in Ireland; Longford Hire Centre's requirements for a tracked carrier of compact dimensions , unsurpassed maneuverability and low ground pressure were ideally met by the C50R which has been dubbed the "lightfoot" by those in Yanmar.
On June 20, Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd concluded a final agreement with Terex Corporation to acquire Terex Corporation's German compact construction equipment business for approximately US $60 million.
This acquisition will allow Yanmar to further develop their business in the small to medium sized construction machinery market in Europe by collectively using the sales and service networks, whilst also utilising the top class production and product development know how of both companies.
We enjoyed a rather wet Hillhead show in July. Despite the weathers best efforts our stand was a popular place with much interest in our products on show. Highlights on the stand included: a high spec SV26 bound for Selwood, TP Halligan's ViO80 with its unique paint design, an ASC130 roller (which was sold during the show) and the ever popular Cormidi tracked dumpers.
Leading on from Hillhead our Oxfordshire based dealer, Farol Ltd sold the first of the eye catching SV100-2 piece boom excavators into the UK. The machine had been on display with Steelwrist at the show. This is a high performance 10 ton excavator with an articulated boom. Unrivalled productivity, unique design and ease of operation are the key characteristics of this excavator. The articulated boom configuration drastically enhances the performance of the SV100, particularly when lifting, moving and placing loads.
Locally to A&Y's headquarters we saw news of first a ViO17 then a ViO25 working at 2 local sports clubs. They were both helping improve the facilities, new pavilion and practice nets, and will be used by all aspects of the respective clubs.
Yanmar released updated and improved versions of the ViO50 and ViO57. These models have proved to be an instant hit with many sales in the short time since their release. Improvements have included: new boom design, upgraded cab, new Yanmar engine, more robust undercarriage and efficiency increasing features such as eco mode and auto idle.
This is in addition to the remaining popular features.
Tayside Contracts added another Ammann pneumatic tyre roller (PTR) to their fleet, sold by Ness Plant. Tayside decided to expand their range of Ammann's because of the quality and reliability of their current machines, particularly the PTRs. They also praised the help and support offered by Ness Plant, making it an easy decision to stay with Ammann. A prime example of this is the way that A&Y and Ness Plant worked together in ensuring the machine was delivered within the deadline, meaning it was out working and earning money as soon as possible.
In December we brought news that we had launched a financial help scheme. There are two new available plans; HP plan incorporating a payment holiday and Operating Lease, and will be running over the first quarter of 2017.
With the current uncertainty over the economy and the purse strings being tightened we see these options as a great and affordable way of being able to take on new Yanmar and Ammann machinery.
A complete list of models covered by the new schemes, including options of payments over 3 and 5 years can be found by visiting the Finance Section of the website www.aandygroup.com/finance
